The Toyota RAV4 is a hardy and capable SUV. First launched back in 1994, the car is now in its fourth generation. In my opinion, it’s the best one so far! This new model got people talking when Toyota unveiled it at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

These days, the new Toyota RAV4 has fast become a familiar sight on our roads. Are you considering an SUV soon? If so, you will no doubt be a little unsure which model to get.

Toyota RAV4 Adventurer

In today’s blog post, I am going to review the newest generation Toyota RAV4. After reading it, you will want to add it to the top of your SUV shortlist! Here’s why you need to get excited about the latest generation RAV4:

It has sculpted lines that make a big statement

The trouble with many SUVs these days is they all look too similar! It seems the Toyota RAV4 is here to offer something different to the market. Its sculpted lines make the car a real head-turner wherever it goes!

Toyota’s luxury arm Lexus even used the RAV4 for inspiration when designing the RX! Even if you’re not a car enthusiast, you’ll have to admit the Toyota RAV4 does offer stunning styling.

A trio of engines is on offer

When it comes to buying a Toyota RAV4, one can select from a choice of three power plants. According to Currie Motors Toyota, the most popular option is the 2.0-litre petrol unit. As standard, it boasts 150 brake horsepower. Linked to an AWD system, it’ll get you from 0-60 mph in 10.6 seconds. CO2 emissions are reasonable at 152 g/km. Fuel economy is 43.5 MPG.

For better mileage, one can opt for the 2.0-litre diesel. That particular engine provides 141 brake horsepower. Sure, it has less power than the petrol. But, it offers better combined fuel economy of 60.1 MPG. Plus, CO2 emissions are lower at 123 g/km.

Last, but not least, there is the 2.5-litre 16-valve hybrid powertrain. Available in either FWD or AWD, it boasts 155 brake horsepower. Fuel economy is the best of the petrol engines at 57.6 MPG. That’s almost as much as the diesel offering! CO2 emissions are 115 g/km.

A comfortable and fresh cabin

As standard, the latest generation RAV4 comes with dual-zone climate control. That means your front seat passenger can adjust the temperature to their particular needs. And you can do the same behind the wheel too!

The heated front seats are also a welcome addition, especially in colder climates! For entertainment, one can use the various features of the Toyota Touch infotainment system. It also has a push-button start system, so you don’t need to fumble for your key to start the engine.

Final thoughts

Toyota has managed to create an award-winning SUV with the RAV4. They’ve built on the success of previous generations. It’s perhaps their best creation yet!

I recommend checking one out at your nearest showroom. You won’t regret it!
