Renault is using the Frankfurt Motor Show to unveil its all-new Mégane. And it’s giving us a rather revealing first look at the hatchback in anticipation of its debut.
The Mégane is Renault’s challenger to the likes of the Ford Focus and Volkswagen Golf. With this version, the Mégane enters its fourth generation, replacing the outgoing model that’s been around since 2008. Though full technical details have not been announced, the new model adopts a larger footprint with a wider track and longer wheelbase, but shorter overhangs.
The sportier silhouette also bears the hallmarks of the French automaker’s latest design language, with stylized C-shaped head- and taillamps, similar to those seen on the larger Talisman sedan. Several body-styles and variants are sure to follow, but for now Renault is showing us only the five-door hatch in standard and GT spec. The latter emerges as a midpoint between the base model and the performance-oriented Renaultsport versions. For now you can scope out the images in the gallery above, the teaser video below, and the press release at bottom.
