Hyundai’s luxury nameplate, still a newcomer itself, has really come into its own with its latest model: the Genesis G80 Sport. The brand’s inaugural performance car is Genesis’ take on the luxury midsize sports sedan, bringing together the practicality of a four-door and the performance of a 365 horsepower twin-turbo V-6, a sport-tuned suspension, and rear- and all-wheel-drive.
The G80 Sport puts all that power to the road in a finely balanced and controlled manner, as watch designer Bradley Price noted behind the wheel. “The G80 sport has a nice engine note that you hear in the higher RPMs. It really comes alive.”
It’s also quite the looker. “I think the most appealing thing about the Genesis G80 Sport is the fact that it is such clean design,” Price observed. “When you look at it up close, you really see how understated the car is.” For a nuanced combination of sport, style and practicality, theis a worthy contender in its class.
